San Ginés sings gospel for Christmas

Gospel has become a musical genre that has crossed borders, achieving great diffusion and public success, both inside and outside churches. Characterized primarily by the use of harmonious choirs, and a light musical character, it includes in its repertoire songs with different themes, although a good part of them are of a Christian nature. The singing, in addition, is usually accentuated with lively participation from the public through exhortations, applause and even dancing.

The recital, which has the collaboration of the Education and Culture area of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, is part of the II Gospel Festival of the Canary Islands that will bring to the Islands 13 concerts by the best artists on the international scene, and that in the specific case of Lanzarote will arrive with the voices of Joniece Jamison, Tori and Linda Lee Hopkins, the "Divine Gospel Reunion".

After long years of separate careers in European and American clubs with diversified performances in pop, jazz and, above all, gospel, and although they had already coincided in some albums and collaborations, these three great soloists are finally united on stage by the same passion and with their own show. Three voices, three styles and the same overflowing energy to share with the public, in addition to faith, friendship, love and the genuine culture of Gospel.

Their repertoire (gospel and black spirituals) was learned in church when they were little. With it they make the public enjoy to the fullest, because "it comes from the depths of their being, because it is their vital essence". Together with Ray Charles, Elton John, Eurythmics or Michael Bolton they have demonstrated what their privileged throats can do.
