The plenary session of the San Bartolomé City Council has ratified this Monday the transfer to the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands of the plot for the construction of the new health center in Playa Honda. The mayor, Isidro Pérez, emphasizes that, in this way, "one of the projects most awaited by the residents of the municipality continues to move forward.”

As he recalls, the completion of the transfer file occurs after the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has presented the basic project and the municipal services have technically and legally reported favorably.

The mayor explains that the City Council received, in April of this year, the basic project for the construction of the health center, "an infrastructure highly demanded by the municipality and for whose construction, this Council has put all the facilities, defending, for years and before the different political and administrative levels, its enormous need”.

Isidro Pérez highlights that the notable population growth registered in the municipality of San Bartolomé in recent years, especially in this coastal nucleus, "forces us to respond with guarantees to the service demands of the residents of the area”

The mayor points out that in December 2021, the transfer to the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands of the plot, of almost 2,000 square meters of surface and located behind the Civic Center, was approved in plenary session.

For her part, the Councilor for Urban Planning and Project Coordination, Marlene Romero, indicates that the investment of this project amounts to almost seven million euros, contemplating two floors where to house the administrative area, physiotherapy area, emergencies, pediatric area, the ordinary care rooms, family medicine and growth and women's area. In addition, the building will have a basement for parking and storage
