Since the entry into force of the new driveway ordinance on October 14, 2024, the San Bartolomé City Council celebrates the results of this innovative measure, designed to optimize the use of public space. To date, more than 250 applications have been received, of which almost a hundred have already been processed and residents have their card to park in their driveways, consolidating it as a real success.

The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, underlines the importance of this initiative and points out that “the modification not only responds to a need of our residents, but also seeks to alleviate parking pressure on our streets. Now, families who own more than one vehicle have the opportunity to park in their own driveways, which is a direct benefit for everyone."

Pérez also highlights the agility of the administrative process. “The fact that almost 100 residents already have their card demonstrates our administration's commitment to doing things well and quickly. This initial success encourages us to continue implementing policies that improve the quality of life for everyone."

Direct impact on the daily lives of residents

The main objective of this measure is to free up space on the streets of the municipality, allowing residents with more than one vehicle to park in their driveways. This not only improves circulation and reduces congestion in residential areas, but also facilitates access to parking for other residents.

In addition, the City Council continues working so that more residents can apply for the card, a procedure that is carried out easily and quickly through the enabled channels.

Positive balance and future challenges

From the City Council, "we highlight the positive impact of the ordinance, which has begun to change the dynamics of parking in the municipality." “This is just the beginning of a broader project to optimize urban resources and meet the demands of our residents,” concludes the mayor.
