The San Bartolomé City Council has launched a sterilization campaign for dogs and cats by which the owner of the animal pays half of the amount, while the other half is paid by the City Council.
The Consistory points out that prices have been set with the municipality's clinics that have joined the initiative. The centers attached to the project are the San Bartolomé Veterinary Center, the El Cazador Veterinary Clinic and the Playa Honda Veterinary Center. Those interested must meet the requirement of proving residence in the municipality of San Bartolomé.
“In addition, we continue working with volunteers authorized by the City Council to register colonies and control the overpopulation of cats. We have the CES (Capture, Sterilization and Release) campaign underway, which consists of capturing stray cats, sterilizing them and releasing them back into their colony, thus avoiding further increasing the number of cats”, said the Councilor for Health, Marlene Romero.
The Consistory reminds that the feline colonies are located with identification signs, and that these are the points where authorized volunteers give food and make captures for sterilization.
The City Council makes a call to all people who want to join the volunteer program for feeding and the CES campaign. In addition, the Councilor for Health informs that those neighbors “who pass a social services report for which they cannot sterilize their dog or cat due to low resources, will have free sterilization”.
