The San Bartolomé City Council has granted 118,500 euros to subsidies for 15 non-profit organizations and NGOs in Lanzarote to contribute to the maintenance of social services they offer in the municipality.
The mayor, Isidro Pérez, points out that this bonus aims to "promote non-profit social initiative" in the municipality of San Bartolomé. "We appreciate the daily work carried out by these entities and remind you that from the City Council we support the work they do with the different segments of the population," says the mayor.
"From the City Council we continue betting on social policies that are fundamental for carrying out activities in the social and cultural field in the municipality, in order to promote projects that benefit the population," explains Pérez.
The associations that will receive subsidies are the Asperger Association of the Canary Islands (ASPERCAN), the Group for the Defense of the Psychic Patient El Cribo, the Association of Oncohematological Families of Lanzarote (AFOL), the TINGUAFAYA Association, the Flora Acoge Canary Foundation, the Creciendo Yaiza Social Association, the Association of People with Disabilities of Lanzarote (ADISLAN), the Association of Relatives and Friends Against Drugs of Arrecife (AFACODA), the Association of Relatives of Alzheimer's Patients and other Dementias of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura (AFA LF), the Mararía Social and Cultural Association for Women, the Lánzate LGTBI+ Canarias Association, the Association of Deaf People of Arrecife and Lanzarote (APSAL), the Cultural Association of Deaf People of Lanzarote (Asculsorlanz), the Lanzarote Association for Assistance in Multiple Sclerosis (Lanzarotealanem), and the Association of Jurists with Disabilities of Lanzarote (Accessible Law Association-Ada).
Finally, the City Council points out that "the different associations carry out actions classified as being of general and social interest in the Municipal Plan of Subsidies of General and Social Interest and all are involved in the different activities that take place in the municipality of San Bartolomé."
