The San Bartolomé City Council has deposited the transportation and accommodation aid for students of the municipality for the year 2021, in the modalities of Baccalaureate, Training Cycles and University Studies, as long as they are not taught on the island or within the municipality.

From the Consistory they maintain that these aids "benefit a total of 348 young people in the municipality" to contribute to defraying "the expenses that studies cause in a family". "Especially those that are carried out outside the island, although there is also aid for those who study on the island outside the municipality," says the mayor, Alexis Tejera.

"Supporting our young people and students has always been a priority in municipal management, and we are already approaching the final goal of setting the aid for university students at 1,000 euros, which has been increased to 800 euros," explains Tejera.

This year two lines of subsidized aid were established, according to the Councilor for Education, Alma María González, on the one hand there are "Transportation Aid with a single amount of up to 120 euros for those students who were studying official studies outside the municipality of San Bartolomé, within the island of Lanzarote and 300 euros for those who are studying official studies outside the island of Lanzarote", in total, from the City Council they point out that "87,000 euros" have been allocated. On the other hand, the Consistory details that there are "Accommodation Aid, which has a single amount of 500 euros for the accommodation of those students who are studying official studies outside the island of Lanzarote, allocating a total of 111,000 euros."
