The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez Martín, has sent a letter to the people responsible for the General State Administration and AENA on the island, in which he formally offers the collaboration of the City Council to contribute provisionally to the cleaning, maintenance and conservation of the green and garden areas of the César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport.

The council has expressed its willingness to activate a municipal team while the procedure for awarding the new service contract tendered by AENA is resolved, in order to avoid the deterioration of the environment and ensure that this strategic infrastructure maintains an adequate image.

The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, emphasizes that "the César Manrique Airport is the main gateway to and from Lanzarote and we want to contribute to ensuring that its environment is in the best possible condition, both from an environmental and aesthetic point of view because the image that is currently being projected cannot be allowed."

He also stresses that "this offer is made from institutional loyalty and commitment to inter-administrative cooperation, convinced that the sum of efforts benefits citizens and the external projection of our island."

From the City Council of San Bartolomé it is recalled that the good conservation of its garden areas is key not only for the tourist image of Lanzarote, but also for the environmental and landscape quality of the municipality of San Bartolomé.

From the City Council of San Bartolomé we have been working for years to ensure that the urban image has as little impact as possible on the landscape and this offer undoubtedly contributes to continuing with this municipal initiative.
