The San Bartolomé City Council informs that the replacement of luminaires “for energy improvement in the town of Playa Honda” has begun. The works, which are in the last phase, are carried out by the company Instalaciones Eléctricas Roluz S.L. replacing a total of 186 luminaires throughout the town, which added to those replaced in previous phases make a total of 697 replaced streetlights.
From the Consistory they explain that the work consists “in dismantling and removing old luminaires, demolishing the existing concrete foundation and tiles to execute the new foundation in which to place the new ones”, including, in addition, “the extension of the existing lines to adapt them to the new light point, as well as "the replacement of the tiles and finishes".
The replacement is being done, according to the City Council, “in different streets of the town of Playa Honda where the oldest luminaires are located”, which have “poorer lighting quality and higher consumption”.
“They are already being replaced by luminaires with LED technology that meet the latest generation of luminescence and efficiency indices”, says the Councilor for Public Works and Services, Raúl de León.
The San Bartolomé City Council recalls that a total of 511 luminaires were already replaced “in different phases throughout the town of Playa Honda”, which together with these 186 new ones, “represents the replacement of 697 luminaires”.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Alexis Tejera, recalls that “a total of 808,000 euros have been invested in the change of public lighting in Playa Honda”, adding that “work is currently underway on the project to replace all the lighting on Avenida de Playa Honda, anticipating that it will be put out to tender in the near future, which will culminate in a change in lighting quality, aesthetics, lower consumption and therefore a decrease in billing”.
Tejera highlights that, with this intervention in a total of 186 light points, “concludes one of the works most demanded by the neighborhood, which not only gives an aesthetic change to the public lighting of the town of Playa Honda, but has also significantly improved the lighting quality of the streets of the coastal town”, thus improving “energy efficiency, which contributes to lower energy consumption and therefore to the reduction of bills”.
