The Tourist Board and the Lanzarote Foreign Promotion Society have confirmed that they will support Ryanair's new connections with Lanzarote with promotional strategies. The contract was signed at a meeting held in Madrid with the Head of Marketing for Spain, Portugal and Morocco of the airline.

The operation, which will begin at the end of October, includes 16 points of origin with 37 weekly frequencies. The aircraft that Ryanair will use for this operation will be a Boeing 737-800, with capacity for 189 passengers.

According to forecasts, the new connections could bring 6,000 passengers a week to the island, from England, Ireland, Germany, Scotland, Belgium or the peninsula. For this reason, the Lanzarote Tourist Board and the Lanzarote Foreign Promotion Society consider it essential to establish agreements of a "promotional nature, which jointly support this important air initiative on the island".

"To maximize the results of this Ryanair commitment, the Board has proposed a promotional plan that can guarantee an optimal result of the new connections and their continuity in the future," said the Minister of Tourism, Carlos Espino.

Among the different promotional actions proposed, insertions of banners of the Lanzarote brand on the Ryanair website, the inclusion of the logo in its newsletters, reports in its in-flight magazines, advertising in the written press or trips for journalists were approved. In addition, contests and competitions will be held with trips as prizes, which will act as a claim and boost sales.
