On the 16th, the most recent work of the photographer from Lanzarote, Rubén Acosta, arrives at the art gallery of Puerto Calero, Lanzarote. The photographic series Polis has been very well received at the Photoespaña International Festival and some of the images in this series have won the Lanzarote Fine Arts competition, others are part of the MIAC collections in Lanzarote and the Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo in Madrid and some have participated in art meetings such as Entrefotos and Artetendencias.
Polis addresses the urbanization process of inland China around the Three Gorges Dam, in the province of Sicuani. In addition, this work has portrayed cities such as Chongging, Chengdú or Yitzan, which are the urban centers that welcomed more than one million displaced people from the banks of the Yantzé River due to the construction of the dam. The Puerto Calero exhibition will also present new images and a video creation that completes the author's photographic work.
