Raúl de León, Secretary of the PSOE of San Bartolomé

Raúl de León has become the new general secretary of the PSOE of San Bartolomé after the assembly held at the Playa Honda Civic Center on the night of this Saturday, April 30. Raúl de León is accompanied by Antonio Rocío as deputy secretary and head of the Municipal Policy and Communication area, and Marlene Romero as head of the Organization and Administration Secretariat.

After his designation, the new general secretary of the PSOE of San Bartolomé stated that both he and his team have proposed to "persevere in the course set by our remembered Alexis Tejera, which consists of continuing to serve the residents so that San Bartolomé continues on the path of stability and progress."

"Renew the absolute majority of the PSOE"

Raúl de León emphasized that the San Bartolomé Group "is very united, very capable and very demanding, so our objective cannot be other than to renew the absolute majority of the PSOE in the City Council next year." The socialist leader believes that the PSOE should "give continuity" to its project for the municipality, "thinking about the quality of life and well-being of the population and, above all, emphasizing attention to vulnerable and disadvantaged people."

The new general secretary was very expressive when stating: "We have to burn a lot of shoe leather to reach every corner of the municipality with our message and get our colleague Isidro Pérez to continue being the mayor." He also emotionally remembered Alexis Tejera, of whom he said: "You marked the way and be clear that we will leave our skin in following your course, the fixed course, colleague."

Alexis Tejera: "Excellent leader and great colleague"

When presenting the management balance of the previous Executive, the outgoing general secretary, Antonio Rocío, stated: "The arrival of the PSOE to the City Council of San Bartolomé has meant the most radical transformation that has ever been seen. We socialists have transformed San Bartolomé, which has become a model municipality of management, transparency and good governance."

Antonio Rocío also had words of remembrance for Alexis Tejera. "Without the unquestionable figure of Alexis Tejera, this project would not have been possible," he said. "He was an excellent leader, a great colleague, a socialist of conviction and a man who made the project in San Bartolomé consolidate, fighting for it until his last breath, always thinking about each person and the best for this project and the municipality," he concluded.

"An experienced and cohesive team"

Finally, Rocío valued the work that the PSOE of San Bartolomé has been doing, a work "daily, on the street, focused on people, on seeing with open eyes the everyday and feeling the real needs of our neighborhood."

The new Local Committee of the San Bartolomé Group is made up of an experienced and cohesive team. In addition to Raúl de León, Antonio Rocío and Marlene Romero, it is made up of Isidro Pérez in the Secretariat of Electoral Action; Inmaculada Cejas in the Secretariat of Social Welfare, Diversity and Equality; Francisco Hernández in the Secretariat of Training; Estefanía Luzardo in the Secretariat of Education and Youth; Fernando Vadillo in the Secretariat of Primary Sector, Ecological Transition and Sports; and Alma Mª González in the Secretariat of Citizen Participation and Culture.
