The Town Hall of Tías has promoted the celebration of the Summer Craft Fair in Puerto del Carmen, which will take place from August 25 to 28, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with the participation of 45 artisans. This exhibition is in collaboration with the Department of Crafts and Commerce of the Cabildo of Lanzarote.
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, and the Councilor for Commerce, Kalinda Pérez, appreciate the involvement of the Cabildo and the Councilor of the area, Carmen Guadalupe. From the Consistory they point out that thanks to this collaboration, "different workshops and various groups and timple players will liven up the nights of the exhibition" will also be held.
"The Cabildo of Lanzarote has not hesitated to collaborate with an initiative of this type, which reinforces artisan commerce in a tourist enclave of great relevance such as Puerto del Carmen. Last year's edition was a success and we are sure that many visitors will come this year as well," says the councilor.
"This summer 45 artisans will participate, 9 from Tenerife, with a collection and variety of captivating creations. It must be remembered that last year it was held with security measures against covid-19 and that it was provided with a digital counter that counted almost 2,500 people in the four days of the exhibition," says Councilor Kalinda Pérez.
In addition to the numerous stalls with artisan creations, the Town Hall of Tías assures that workshops will be given every day of the exhibition starting at 7:00 p.m. and will be enlivened with music starting at 7:30 p.m.
On August 25, a cochineal dye workshop for adults will be given and will be enlivened by the Janubio band, while on August 26 the workshop will be ceramics for children and the El Golpito group will liven it up.
On August 27 there will be ceramics for children and the timple player Gabriel will play, while on August 28 the dye workshop for adults will be given and will be enlivened with the music of Alexis Lemes.
