Puerto del Carmen once again has hammocks and umbrellas. The company awarded the contract, Jandía First Service On Beach, S.L.U., began assembly on Tuesday evening and has continued placing hammocks this Wednesday. Primarily, it has focused on Playa Grande, where both the demand and the number of users is greater than in the rest of the municipality's beaches.
The company still has 15 days to place all the hammocks and umbrellas, however, it hopes to finish this assembly this weekend. When it finishes, it will have to communicate and notify the Tías Town Hall so that municipal technicians can verify and inspect whether the material and the number of elements comply with the terms and conditions of the tender.
[The Tías Town Hall signed this Tuesday the administrative authorization contract with the company awarded this public tender->77735], after the resignation of the winner. The contract states that more than 85 percent of the 1,500 hammocks to be assembled will be new, brand new, and with an investment of more than 325,000 euros in these special acquisitions for the beaches of Puerto del Carmen.
The hammocks, umbrellas and nautical elements will be placed on the beaches of Matagorda, Pocillos, Playa Grande and Playa Chica or Playa de la Barrilla. For this operation, the company will pay the Town Hall 1,121,001 euros as a fee. The beaches of Puerto del Carmen have not had these elements since April 1, when the company that had been awarded the service "by extension and without a tender", according to the current government group, decided to abandon the service.
