The IES of Puerto del Carmen has hosted an extension of the Arrecife School of Languages since September 14, which was inaugurated by the island director of Education, Juan Cruz, and the mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz Saavedra. This new location will allow 90 students, specializing in English, to attend classes in the evening in the town of Tías.
The director of the Island Office highlighted the "effort made to make this extension a reality." He also emphasized the importance of the location and thanked the notable involvement of the director of the Puerto del Carmen Institute, Inalbis Betancort, and the Arrecife School of Languages, Carmen Gloria Morales.
For his part, the mayor of Tías highlighted the importance of this extension in "the main tourist area", for what it represents, since it is a "necessity and a commitment to the qualification of our people, because it is a guarantee to better serve tourism and put ourselves on par with the rest of the European Union in speaking other languages".
