Public Works tenders the improvement of the César Manrique park in Tinajo

The works seek to integrate this park and reactivate it, being necessary for this the repaving, adaptation and creation of new constructive elements

The Vice President of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Jacobo Medina, together with the mayor, Jesús Machín, and the Councilor for Works of Tinajo, Luis Miguel Berriel.

The Public Works area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, directed by Vice President Jacobo Medina, has put out to tender this Monday the project to improve and condition the César Manrique park, known as Parque del Calvario, located in the municipality of Tinajo, for an amount that amounts to 1,957,297.89 euros, taxes included. 

“This space is currently completely underutilized, and from the area we saw the need to completely transform it and turn it into a meeting place leisure for the residents of the town”, said the vice president, who recently visited the place together with the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, and the Councilor for Works of the municipality, Luis Miguel Berriel. 

The execution works aim to integrate this park and reactivate it, being necessary for this the repaving, adaptation and creation of new constructive elements, creating new spaces, landscaping, adequate lighting in accordance with the new proposed activities, elimination of architectural barriers, provision of mobile or construction furniture and other needs for this type of public spaces. 

The mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, comments that “it is a special day because the Parque del Calvario is being put out to tender, a work that has been awaited in Tinajo for more than two years. The Parque del Calvario is one of the most important works in the municipality, one of the major projects that we have planned. I thank the Cabildo of Lanzarote, its president and its councilor, Jacobo Medina, for finally making this contest a reality.

“It is a very interesting work because it is integrated with the residence. Of great importance for issues such as architectural barriers. It will have a stage, maintenance gym equipment and a kiosk, among other things. In short, a very important work and, later, it will also be carried out, we are with the project of the Casa de la Juventud and that gallery of exhibitions also in the small school that is next to the Parque del Calvario”, added the mayor. 

Companies interested in this project have until 09:00 on November 5 to submit offers. 

The project "Conditioning and improvement of César Manrique park. TM Tinajo”, is an action integrated in the plan of tourist sustainability in destination 2023, financed within the framework of the Plan of Recovery, Transformation and Resilience financed by the European Union Next Generation EU.
