The Cabildo of Lanzarote has approved the provisional awarding of 504,000 euros in transport aid for some 1,200 students from Lanzarote and La Graciosa who are pursuing higher vocational training, undergraduate university studies and official master's degrees outside the islands.

The provisional list of awardees can be consulted from this Friday, December 27, through the electronic headquarters of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and on the website for the management of Scholarships/Aid. Likewise, a period of ten working days has been established to present allegations from the publication of the list at the electronic headquarters of the Cabildo and in the Edict Board of the Corporation.

The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, has highlighted the importance of this aid as a firm commitment to the training and future of the young people of the islands: “This aid guarantees that no student sees their right to training limited for economic or geographical reasons. We are investing in the present and future of our youth.”

For her part, the Minister of Education, Ascensión Toledo, has highlighted the effort made by the institution to meet the needs of students who have to travel outside the archipelago: “We know the sacrifice that the added cost of transport and stay outside the island means for many families. With this aid we seek to alleviate that economic burden and support our young people so that they can achieve their academic goals.”
