With this measure, the aim is to have the works in this area completed before the start of the summer season and thus avoid inconvenience to tourists and problems caused by them. On the other hand, the Tías Town Hall has reported that the works on the section of Avenida de Las Playas between Avenida de Italia and Calle Agonal are already well advanced. The trench has been opened and the corresponding pipe is being laid.
According to the Consistory of the municipality of Tías, "despite the fears of businessmen, tour operators have confirmed that the number of tourists coming to Lanzarote is not decreasing due to the works being carried out in the main tourist area of the island", they explain. They also assure that the tourism companies "are informing at origin about the execution of these works" so that tourists "request their accommodation where they consider appropriate", they affirm.
