The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, confirms that the City Council favorably resolved the request for inter-administrative cooperation from the Cabildo of Lanzarote so that the First Island Corporation can proceed with the processing and execution of the project to install canopies at the bus stops on the urban public transport line of Playa Blanca.
“The canopy network project involves a public tender and all the processing steps until the award to the contracting company that has the merits to carry it out, but we are on the verge of seeing an old municipal demand and that of users materialized, who will have a better bus service in Playa Blanca at its 24 stops,” notes the mayor.
The canopies will be prefabricated and the project includes expansion works of sidewalks and accessibility at stops that do not comply with regulations. “We appreciate the collaboration of the Minister of Transport of the Island Council, Domingo Cejas, who maintains direct contact with our councilor of the area, Beatriz Vázquez, to find solutions to problems and concerns in transport matters. Yaiza does not understand public administration without the necessary collaboration between all institutions,” adds Óscar Noda.
