Playa Blanca will have a new bus line with Puerto del Carmen and direct connection to Arrecife

Playa Blanca will have a new bus line, which will connect the southern town with Puerto del Carmen every hour. Also, line 60, Arrecife-Playa Blanca, will be direct, without passing through Puerto del Carmen and departures will also be every 60 minutes. "This is an improvement that will help to speed up connections with Playa Blanca from two of the main population centers of the island, Arrecife and Puerto del Carmen," says the Councilor for Transport of the Cabildo, Ángel Vázquez.

The changes will be implemented on Monday, June 27. Both lines will maintain a frequency of one hour from Monday to Friday, changing to two hours on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Specifically, in the case of Line 60, Arrecife-Playa Blanca, departures from Monday to Friday will begin in the Arrecife-Playa Blanca direction at 6 a.m. (this being the only departure that will continue to pass through Puerto del Carmen), to continue every hour on the hour until 9 p.m. The 2 p.m. bus will also pass through Las Breñas.

However, and as Vázquez has reported, in the Playa Blanca-Arrecife direction, the first departure will be at 6.50 a.m., passing through Las Breñas, while the rest will be on the hour from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, the frequency will be every 2 hours, starting at 7 a.m. and ending at 9 p.m., in the Arrecife-Playa Blanca direction, and from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., in the Playa Blanca-Arrecife direction.

The line will begin its journey at the Arrecife Bus Station and end at the Playa Blanca Bus Station and Pier, and stops will be made, among many other places, in Playa Honda, Ferretería de Tías, Los Lirios, Mácher, Puerto Calero junction, Iglesia de Uga, Supermercado de Yaiza, Rotonda La Hoya, etc.

Union of Puerto del Carmen with Playa Blanca

For its part, line 61 will maintain a frequency of one hour from Monday to Friday, with the first trip leaving Puerto del Carmen in the direction of Playa Blanca at 7:45 a.m. and ending at 10:35 p.m. For its part, departures from Playa Blanca will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the last one at 11:20 p.m.

Among the stops, Line 61 will leave from Matagorda to stop at the Hotel Jameos, Costa Mar, Hotel San Antonio, Casino, CC Atlántico, CC Biosfera, Puerto Calero, Iglesia de Uga, Aljibe de Yaiza, Playa Blanca Station, Playa Blanca Pier, etc.

On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, the frequency will be approximately 2 hours, starting in the Puerto del Carmen-Playa Blanca direction at 8:15 a.m. and ending at 9:50 p.m., and in the Playa Blanca-Puerto del Carmen direction, the first departure will be at 9:00 a.m. and the last at 10:30 p.m.

The Councilor for Transport and Data Center of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Ángel Vázquez, has positively valued the creation of this new line, since in his opinion "it will favor communications between two of the most important tourist centers of the island, with the consequent benefit for workers who have to travel between these locations, but also for tourists, who will be able to easily connect between both municipalities and visit their beaches and places of interest. In addition, until now it was necessary to send reinforcement units at peak hours, but with the new line this problem will be solved", says Ángel Vázquez.
