Paloma Fernández Castro has resigned this Thursday from her position as PP councilor in the Teguise City Council. Nieves Arrocha, a resident of La Graciosa, will replace her in the Corporation.
In her letter of resignation, Fernández states that it is "solely and exclusively due to work and personal reasons," which prevent her from continuing to perform her duties "one hundred percent." "Hoping that no conjectures are drawn" about her resignation, the councilor expresses her desire to continue contributing to the development of the municipality and supporting the work that the PP is doing.
The former councilor also expresses her gratitude and the honor it has been for her "to be a councilor of the Popular Party and represent all the residents of the municipality during this time." "I also want to express my gratitude for the trust placed in me by the Popular Party of Lanzarote and the municipal spokesperson, Jonás Álvarez, with whom it has been an honor to work together with the entire team," she says.
The island president of the Popular Party, Ástrid Pérez, has publicly expressed her gratitude to Paloma Fernández "because since joining the project, she has demonstrated her personal worth and a sincere dedication and involvement with the residents of Teguise. A discreet and unpretentious work that has the recognition of all colleagues and their neighbors."
Astrid Pérez also had words of congratulations for Nieves Arrocha, who will replace Fernández within the municipal group. "All of us who know Nieves know of her capacity and perseverance when it comes to defending and working for the common good, so I am convinced that she will do a great job."
