Teguise has begun the execution of one of the municipal projects that are being carried out in Costa Teguise in order to improve the accessibility of several streets in the town. This Monday, the Lanzarote company Hormiconsa, the project's contractor, has started the planned works on Avenida del Golf, and will continue for the next 5 months renovating sidewalks on the different public roads located in commercial, educational and health areas of Costa Teguise.

The total investment amounts to 440,175 euros, co-financed by the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN), and "also contemplates the improvement of accessibility in pedestrian crossings and playgrounds in Piteras, Timple streets and surroundings", they explain from the Consistory.

The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, on his round of visits to the actions that are already underway throughout the municipality, has verified the optimal start of this new phase "so necessary to improve the town of Costa Teguise in terms of roads, works, security and accessibility, to which have been added the lighting and paving renovation plans, which will coexist in time while new investments are prepared in view of the unstoppable population growth of Costa Teguise and its urban development", said Betancort.

As heads of the Technical Office and the Roads and Works area, Olivia Duque and Eugenio Robayna, respectively, are making a "daily monitoring of the administrative procedures of the pending issues to be tendered, as well as the interventions that are being activated progressively and that require a good coordination between the public administration and the companies contracted to respond to the priorities of the Costa Teguise community, in this case, and the rest of the towns of the municipality", conclude from the City Council.
