Nieves Arrocha Martín took office this Wednesday as the new councilor of the Popular Party in Teguise, thus replacing Paloma Fernández, who left her position last October "for personal reasons".
The Plenary in which the new councilor has joined the Corporation has once again been marked by protocols against Covid, and only the mayor and the new councilor have followed the session from the plenary hall, while the rest have done so by videoconference.
According to the PP, Nieves Arrocha is a Senior Technician in Travel Agencies and "for some years has been actively participating in the Committee of the Teguise party, of which she is local secretary." To these organic responsibilities is added her status as a member of the island and regional leadership of the Popular Party. "Despite her youth, at 27 years old, Arrocha has knowledge in the functioning of the public administration for her work as an advisor in the Island Council", say her colleagues in a statement.
The new councilor thanked the words of welcome from the different political groups and expressed her "enthusiasm and pride" in representing the residents of Teguise and La Graciosa, noting that her will is to "build, add, and also supervise and exercise opposition work in a serious and responsible manner, as the colleagues of the Popular Party, Jonás Álvarez and Paloma Fernández, have been doing during this legislature".
