As of this Wednesday, all municipalities have their own cadastre office. In the facilities, which have been inaugurated in municipalities such as Arrecife, Yaiza, Tinajo and San Bartolomé, there is an Internet service available to citizens through which the official can access any information on the applicant's cadastral properties. With this initiative established in a large part of the country, according to the general director of the Cadastre, Jesús Miranda, "legal cadastral information can be obtained anywhere in the country in just three minutes."

From now on, the cadastre system will be more accessible and the process faster. And in this way, the people of Lanzarote will no longer have to wait so long to receive the information. The advantage offered by these new offices is that previously the request was sent to the capital of the province, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and the bureaucratic process was delayed in many cases for up to two months.

More than 3,000 requests a year were requested from Lanzarote, which overwhelmed the service. It is now expected that the demand for this agile cadastre service will increase since the request is free and previously it could cost up to 30 euros, for example, to obtain a report on the boundaries of a property.

In any case, this morning the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, announced the possibility that a municipal ordinance will implement a lower rate "so that the service does not collapse," he commented. Even so, this new decentralized service provides more facilities for Lanzarote citizens who wish to know the characteristics of their properties or need to process those papers for any purpose.
