The Civil Guard barracks in Yaiza closes at 2:00 p.m., and southern nationalists believe it should be open 24 hours a day. Their complaint stems from the fact that, according to representatives of CC, "it is impossible for residents of Yaiza, Uga, Femes, Playa Quemada, among other areas, to file complaints at the Civil Guard station after two in the afternoon."

According to the schedule of the Civil Guard in Yaiza, to carry out any procedure with this police force, residents have to travel to Playa Blanca. Therefore, the local committee of CC in the South will ask the Senators of this political group to urge the Ministry of Interior to allow this barracks to be open 24 hours a day.

The request of the southern nationalists is based on the fact that the Yaiza unit "has a significant number of agents, but does not facilitate the service," they claim. Furthermore, the nationalists consider it necessary that "the availability of the Civil Guard services in the municipality be the same for everyone, or more, considering that the population of the municipality has increased considerably in recent years and there is another tourist area in this town besides Playa Blanca."
