The councilor of the Yaiza City Council, Bruno Medina, denounces "the neglect and abandonment of some playgrounds" in Playa Blanca. "The lack of will that this government group has had in improving these areas so important for the leisure and development of the municipality's youngest children is inexplicable. It is even less understandable when they have a contract with a company in charge of the maintenance and disinfection of the parks for a value of more than 300,000 euros," he criticizes. "
"After exactly two years since we made a public complaint about the state of these same playgrounds, Las Coloradas and Francia, the only thing that the responsible councilor has changed, from January 2021 to now, is the barricade tape that seals them off," denounces councilor Medina.
Medina points out that "only with a little will and desire to work for the municipality, applying maintenance work and replacing some equipment, these parks could be open and in full use. What's more, we know that elements from a complete park in good condition have been removed from another area, which may be stored in some municipal building, with which these problems could be solved. However, they have shown that in this legislature, if it is not to take out the taxpayers' checkbook and buy everything new, they are not capable of managing the slightest thing."
"For all the above, we have requested the work reports and weekly actions of the last three months. I will also ask in the next plenary session the councilor responsible for Parks and Gardens of the municipal government, the reason why the slightest thing has not been done in these parks, avoiding a possible risk for minors who may use the playgrounds even when they are sealed off, as we see that there are some cases in which the barricade tape no longer exists," concludes Medina.
