Lanzarote has a new commissioner of the National Police Force. This is Luis Mayandía Fernández, with whom the Government Delegate in the Canary Islands, Enrique Hernández Bento, met this Tuesday. The previous commissioner, Federico Teodoro Pérez, retired a few months ago.
Enrique Hernández Bento held a meeting with Mayandía Fernández at the headquarters of the General State Administration in Lanzarote. The meeting was also attended by the Chief of Police of the Canary Islands, José María Moreno Moreno, the Island Director of the General State Administration in Lanzarote, Juan Prats Melero, and the Chief Inspector of Citizen Security of the National Police Station of Arrecife, Pedro Álvarez.
Commissioner Luis Mayandía Fernández has previously been assigned to Madrid, where he was head of the Coordination and Operational Planning Unit. In addition, he has worked abroad for years. Among other things, he was an Interior Attaché at the Spanish Consulate in Tangier and Deputy Coordinator of the police cooperation center in Tangier-Med. In Spain, he also worked in the area of Immigration and Internment Centers.
