The Governing Council has approved this Monday the territorial legalization of a livestock farm located in the municipality of Haría, which implies the authorization of the activity and its corresponding buildings and facilities on a definitive basis. The development of the pertinent actions of a sanitary, environmental, functional, aesthetic and animal welfare nature, which must be executed within a period of 18 months, is established as a requirement for regularization.

The farm, which has been registered in the Register of Livestock Farms (REGA) since July 23, 2002 and in operation since then, meets the requirements established in section 1 of article 5 of Law 6/2009, of May 6, for its territorial legalization, according to the report issued by the General Directorate of Livestock.

The legalized installation belongs to the group composed of 190 farms that meet the legal requirements for their regularization, promoted by the General Directorate of Livestock.

For their legalization, these must have been built before 1999 and must have passed a series of procedures involving Cabildos, City Councils and other public administrations such as the General Directorate of Nature Protection, the General Directorate of Livestock itself or the General Directorate of Territorial Planning.
