The General Director of Youth of the Government of the Canary Islands, Laura Fuentes, was elected this Friday as the new general coordinator of Podemos Canarias with 85% of the votes cast - a total of 2,503 - in a primary that has been marked by the withdrawal of Meri Pita's candidacy for considering that the process did not provide the appropriate democratic guarantees or transparency.
As Podemos Canarias has published on social networks, a total of 2,503 people participated in the primaries, with the candidacy led by Fuentes - Un Podemos Canarias Contigo - obtaining 2,164 of those votes. The rest were 177 considered null and 162 blank.
