Lanztransport has shown solidarity with the land carriers of Fuerteventura, considering that the problems affecting them are identical on both islands. The majorera Transport Cooperative has denounced "the terrible conditions in which the sector operates", which has led to the joint defense of their demands on both islands, as they are identical. The majorera Cooperative groups 99% of the sector.
Among the problems denounced by the majorero carriers is the economic situation, such as the increase in fuel prices and the slowdown seen in the construction sector. Among the structural problems, they point to intrusion and "the persecution" they claim to suffer from Traffic and the Cabildo of Fuerteventura through its Transport Area. According to the president of the majorero carriers, Matías González, "we have been denouncing intrusion for years and the more we denounce it, the more harassment we suffer from Traffic and the Transport Area of the Cabildo."
From Lanztransport they remember that they already called a protest strike last July, which was widely supported by road transport professionals on the island, mostly self-employed.
