"Just because Fariones has authorization doesn't mean one is stupid and doesn't see what they are doing on the beach"

Hay Proyecto en Tías expresses its doubts about whether the walkway being built by the Hotel conforms to what is authorized and has called a meeting to analyze whether to take action.

"Just because Fariones has authorization doesn't mean one is stupid and doesn't see what they are doing on the beach." This is how the president of Hay Proyecto in Tías, Agustín García, has expressed himself about the walkway that Hotel Fariones is building. "And we will see what we do, whether a mobilization or what, because it is inconceivable," added García, who has announced that his party will analyze whether to take action.

And it is that, although the formation does not question that the works have authorization from Coasts, the president of Hay Proyecto in Tías has expressed his doubts about whether what is being executed corresponds to what is authorized in terms of the space occupied and the materials that are being used.

"But to question, because we are not kamikazes, we need information," Agustín García pointed out, who has demanded "transparency" in this regard. And it is that, the president of Hay Proyecto in Tías has assured that although his formation has been "since August 2018" requesting a copy of the technical file, until now it has not been provided by the City Council. "What fear is there that they sit down and explain if it conforms to what is allowed?" he questioned

In addition, the president of Hay Proyecto in Tías has stated that he "laughs when certain political parties appeal to transparency" "Because none of them are transparent," added Agustín García, since a year ago it was the PP who governed in the municipality, a party that, now in the opposition, has announced that it would go to the Courts "after the systematic refusal of the socialist mayor Cruz Saavedra" to provide them with documentation.

"Authorizations can be given, but they can also be questioned"

Likewise, the president of Hay Proyecto in Tías believes that "authorizations and permits can be given, but they can also be questioned". "There is a recent precedent in Tenerife, in Adeje, where technicians from the state body are being investigated for a leisure place called Monkey Beach, for a very similar thing," explained Agustín García, also recalling other precedents "such as the Papagayo Arena".

"That is, papers? The paper can handle everything, but it is not about that, but about the fact that in the end we are affecting the beach. The environmental impact, the authorization of the structure, the material that is used... all that kind of thing is not explained, and if it conforms to what is authorized," García pointed out, insisting that "no one knows in depth, with data, that technical project". "And we have been asking for it since August 2018, but previously I know that councilors who are now in the government group had asked for that file," he added.

For all this, according to what the president of Hay Proyecto in Tías has explained, the party has decided to call a meeting this Tuesday, which has taken place at 7:00 p.m. in the Sociocultural Center of Puerto del Carmen. "We have contacted entities, groups and other parties to have a first contact, make a reflection on the situation and see what we will do," he concluded.
