Jonathan Rodríguez has been elected president of the Popular Party of Tinajo during the Extraordinary Assembly held this Saturday. In his speech, Rodríguez stated that “it is time to work and join efforts so that Tinajo wakes up and takes off as a municipality” since, he assured, “there are many residents of Tinajo who are unhappy with the current situation, with the deficiencies that exist in basic services and public infrastructures.”
“In Tinajo there are many residents who do not feel identified or represented by a government that often gets lost in demagoguery and does not end up responding to their needs,” said Jonathan Rodríguez. “Doing politics is one thing and managing so that Tinajo advances and develops economically, creating new opportunities, is quite another, and that is precisely what we want for our residents.”
The new president acknowledged being more of a doer than a talker “and I think that is what the residents expect from us, that we be a useful tool for them to be heard, to denounce their problems but also, and most importantly, with the capacity to put proposals and solutions on the table.”
Jonathan Rodríguez defends for Tinajo “an open project, of ordinary people who live the reality of the municipality as one more, who pursue and fight to have a better municipality, which generates illusion and expectations among the youngest. This is our goal for 2023.”
An electoral appointment to which the island president of the Popular Party, Astrid Pérez, also referred, expressing her conviction that with the work of the new team, the PP will recover the representation it has always had in Tinajo. “Establishing oneself in a municipality like this is not easy but, far from what some want us to believe, the residents of Tinajo are not conformist and are tired of the paralysis of the last decade.”
“Politics requires perseverance, dedication and discipline, and as a good athlete, Jonathan Rodríguez has all these values. If we add to this the great affection he has for his town, I have no doubt that he will form a great team at the service of the residents of Tinajo,” said the leader of the PP.
