Jonás Álvarez: "Coalición Canaria has not only lost the elections in Teguise, but they have also continued to deceive the residents"

"The lies of the CC leaders have lasted less than 70 days," says the councilor of Primero Teguise

The councilor of Primero Teguise, Jonás Álvarez

Jonás Álvarez, councilor of Primero Teguise, speaks about the incorporation of Ginés González, Vox, to the government group. “Coalición Canaria has taken less than seventy days to break its sacred red line to agree with Vox on joining their government team, even though they did not need them to continue with their mandate. "An exercise of arrogance that I suspect is more of a whim of our Mayor than an imposition from within the party," he adds.

Moreover, from the municipal group, they launch this question: "Is Ginés González really a Vox councilor in the Teguise City Council?". The Primero Teguise team, which "is not at all surprised by the inclusion of the Vox councilor to the city council's government team, wonders how long it will take for the new councilor of Local Police, Civil Protection and Traffic to abandon the ranks of the ultra-right party and join Coalición Canaria."

"How else can it be explained that in more than two months of government, and with Ginés González in the opposition, he has not bothered to assert his party's policy? Where was Ginés González when his colleague Esther Tamargo, councilor in Tías, asked to remove all the symbols of the LGTBI collective? Where was the VOX representative in Teguise when his colleagues in other city councils in Spain were asking for the abolition of the equality council?", they ask.

Where was Ginés González when his colleague Esther Tamargo, councilor in Tías, asked to remove all the symbols of the LGTBI collective?

"The answer is simple and all the residents of Teguise know it. The VOX councilor was next to the Mayor Olivia Duque, in each of the social events and festivities held in the towns of the municipality. A new toy that the councilors of Coalición Canaria have been in charge of taking out for a walk and whitewashing for their future seat in the plenary hall. An open secret, no matter how much everyone denied it. Little by little, in each pilgrimage or procession, Olivia Duque was in charge of introducing the new councilor to society," adds Álvarez.

“The times that Fernando Clavijo or Ana Oramas have drawn the red line to the political extremes, being also clear in their statements about the no to Vox, have been useless”,
declares Jonás Álvarez. “What has become clear is the lack of commitment of Coalición Canarias with its voters and its neighbors in Teguise. They have included in the government team a political party whose purpose is to abolish the autonomies and persecute and prohibit political nationalism. What a nonsense!”, he points out.

"It does not escape anyone that for two months we have seen an exercise of obscurantism regarding the distribution of councilorships that harms the neighbors. It is curious that having CC and PP potential partners more accessible who carry the Canarian identity in their political program, they have ended up forming a government with a political party that will undoubtedly put them in trouble in the near future and that in no way, as they claim, will be an exercise of democratic plurality," he says.

"Now there is one last question to resolve,” Álvarez concludes. “What type of electoral program is going to be implemented and if it is really going to be agreed upon by the three political forces that make up the plenary session, or will it be another exercise of arrogance on the part of our mayor. They have included in a press release a line of action of eleven points, which could well be implemented in any municipality in Spain. Of all these points, only one speaks specifically of our municipality, making clear the little attention to the idiosyncrasy, the singularities and the specific needs of Teguise,” concludes the councilor.
