The name of Lanzarote has jumped this Wednesday to the national press linked to that of Iñaki Urdangarín. According to the newspaper El Mundo, the husband of Infanta Cristina charged more than 53,000 euros for "some talks" he gave on the island, as part of a conference on tourism and sports organized by Valero Rivera.
The conference was held at the Princesa Yaiza hotel in Playa Blanca and both the Cabildo and the City Council collaborated financially with its celebration.
Regarding the payments to Urdangarín, according to El Mundo, they were made through the company Valero Rivera Asesoramiento Deportivo, SL, which paid 53,360 euros to the "instrumental entities of Nóos", in which Infanta Cristina herself and Diego Torres also appear as partners.
Specifically, Rivera's payments were made to the companies Shiriaimasu, Intuit Strategy Innovation and Aizoon. This last company, according to the investigation opened against Urdangarín and Torres, was allegedly used to "divert public funds previously captured by the Nóos Institute with false invoices".
The handball coach and Urdangarín have maintained a close relationship for years and now, Valero Rivera has just offered the Duke of Palma a position within the Qatar Handball Federation.
