Haría establishes a commission for the Management of the Los Lajares Agro-environmental Farm

Among the measures, the public offering of the contract for its maintenance, the implementation of an agricultural water meter and the installation of a drip irrigation model stand out, among others.

The Haría City Council established a commission for the Management of the Los Lajares Agro-environmental Farm, on the slopes of the La Corona volcano, last Monday, April 29. The
delegation is chaired by the councilor of the Primary Sector, Bruno Santana. The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, states that "thanks to this commission, the management and agricultural experimentation are guaranteed, in addition to promoting the dissemination of the heritage values ​​of the farm."

For his part, the councilor of the Primary Sector of Haría, Bruno Santana, details that through this commission "a series of measures will be launched and a follow-up will be carried out to verify that the objectives set by the entity are met."

Among the measures that are going to be implemented, the public offering of the contract for the maintenance of the farm, the implementation of an agricultural water meter and the installation of a drip irrigation model for the replanting of the vineyard and the traditional grove stand out. The flora of the area will also be cataloged and signposted, and the one that is not present will be planted.

Likewise, the commission will analyze the possibility of allowing guided tours and will study the feasibility of placing informative posters at points of special relevance to support the guides. Similarly, immediate actions will be analyzed to help the recovery plan for the area's avifauna.

This commission is made up of the councilor for the Environment of Haría, Alberto de León; the writer and former university professor Alejandro González; the biologist and teacher Domingo Concepción; the biologist and representative of the Geopark Elena Mateo; the biologist belonging to the Biosphere Reserve Juan Cazorla; the biologist Juan Manuel González; the president of the association of friends of wine and cheese, Juan Santana; the agricultural expert Manuel Fernando; the promoter of several heritage initiatives Don Rafael Cúrbelo; the agricultural engineer Teno Osorio, and the director of the farm, José Pérez.
