The plenary session of the Haría City Council approved this Friday the general budgets of the Consistory for the fiscal year 2026, with a figure that reaches a total of 13,298,167.09 euros. The municipal accounts obtained eight votes in favor from the governing group and four abstentions.

The mayor, Alfredo Villalba, stressed that it is a "continuist, responsible, and balanced budget," which guarantees the economic stability of the City Council, allowing us to continue advancing in "those
projects that improve the quality of life of the neighbors." Villalba highlighted the importance of these accounts, as they reinforce "public investments and consolidate essential municipal services without compromising the financial health of the institution."

For his part, the Councilor for Economy and Finance, Celestino Socas, indicated that this year's budget maintains the "line of rigor and planning" initiated in previous years, with a "realistic forecast of income and responsible control of spending." "The planned investments will allow action in the improvement and maintenance of public spaces, such as parks and gardens, as well as in street cleaning, municipal buildings and the supply of material for the vehicle fleet, which will contribute to improving agricultural roads in the municipality and public spaces," he explained.

Among the priorities of the new accounts are also the increase in educational aid, the reinforcement of social services, and the improvement of the provision of basic services, consolidating a management model "oriented towards social cohesion and the sustainable development of the municipality".

Public services have increased their participation from 800,000 euros in 2024 to 1.8 million euros in 2026, as well as home help services, which go from 50,000 euros to almost 120,000 euros.

The budget has the favorable reports from the municipal audit regarding the accounts and compliance with the budgetary stability objective, both issued on February 8.

After its initial approval, the budget will be made public for fifteen business days through an announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province and on the municipal notice board. In the absence of any claims, it will be considered definitively approved and will proceed to its summarized publication by chapters in the Official Gazette of the Province, subsequently sending a copy to the State Administration and the Autonomous Community.
