The Haría City Council has approved, in the plenary session held this Thursday, the designation of the Haría 2025 Awards, which have been granted to the Guatifay theater group and Los Diablos of the municipality, in recognition of their outstanding work in promoting the culture and traditions of the town.
The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, highlighted that "these awards are a necessary and deserved identification of two groups that have marked the history of the municipality."
For her part, the Councilor for Culture, Evelia García, stressed that "both the Guatifay group and Los Diablos de Haría represent the collective effort and love for our own."
The Guatifay theater group, which emerged in the mid-seventies, transformed the cultural scene of the municipality with a commitment to a social and avant-garde scene. With performances in Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura, and after receiving the Third National Award for Non-Professional Theater in 1979, it established itself as a scenic reference inside and outside the Canary Islands.
On the other hand, Los Diablos de Haría, which emerged in 1994, have turned the night of San Juan into an unmissable event. Their representations symbolize the tradition and connection of Haría with its roots and has established itself as a unique cultural manifestation that attracts thousands of visitors every year.
The institutional act of delivery of the Haría 2025 Awards will be held on June 23, at 9:00 p.m., in the town square and will also feature the performance of the singer Cristina Ramos.
