"I, Ginés de Quintana Cabrera, son of Pedro and Juana, am not going to support any motion of censure. Make that clear, and even less with the PP, with the PIL and with the PNL. I think I have made it clear." That is how forceful the councilor of Alternativa Ciudadana has been this Tuesday on Radio Lanzarote, who has assured that "time should not be wasted on these things, giving credence to Cándido Reguera and company."
Incluso, De Quintana has assured that he is incapable of thinking about the possibility of joining these parties. "Stop, stop, it makes me cringe," he insisted.
Last Wednesday, Alternativa Ciudadana brought a proposal from the PP to the assembly to sit down and negotiate in order to form a new majority in Arrecife. Alternativa finally demanded the resignation of Cándido Reguera and Joel Delgado, charged in Operation "Montecarlo" and "Unión", respectively, something that the PP did not accept, so negotiations did not even begin.
Ginés de Quintana has been away from the island and could not attend the Alternativa Ciudadana assembly. However, he has heard statements in these days that have led him to wonder "what is happening there". "When you hear Cándido Reguera say that this is practically done, that you only have to remove a few fringes, you say My God," he indicated, referring to the possible motion of censure against CC and PSOE.
With AC "what has happened before cannot happen"
De Quintana is aware that "everything has happened" in Arrecife, but he trusts that with Alternativa Ciudadana "what has happened before will not happen". In this sense, he explained that "due to ideology", the party agreed with CC and PSOE, and "we came out scalded". Therefore, he believes that "with this branch here", referring to PP, PIL and PNL, "not even water". "Ginés de Quintana will always support this position in his assembly. Not even water, not even water," he insisted.
The councilor of Alternativa Ciudadana wants his colleagues to tell him "firsthand" everything that happened last week regarding the possible start of negotiations with the PP. "I am sure that Alternativa Ciudadana has never considered this in their life. Maybe it was to create some tension with the government team, to tell them to be careful that you are in the minority," he suggested.
In this sense, he wanted to make it clear that he "would not support a motion of censure, not even jokingly" and, even less, "with those who are". "There are two things that today are going to give me reservations," he indicated. "We have had a good legislature. We committed when we saw it necessary and they took us for a ride. We left with the dignity with which we had to leave and our position was quite clear. We must continue in this line", he defended.
