Ganemos requests that the ordinary plenary session of the Arrecife City Council be urgently convened

Ganemos Arrecife considers "an absolute lack of respect for the citizens and the members of the Corporation that in the hundred days that the government group has been in office, an ordinary plenary session has not yet been held in due time and form." This is stated in a statement, in which they ask that the ordinary plenary session of the month of September be convened "urgently" and warn that they will denounce the situation before the Courts if it is not convened.

"There is no doubt that the political instability derived from the absence of a government pact in the Island Council of Lanzarote has its collateral effect on the plenary of the island's capital, and such circumstance is not admissible," the formation emphasizes. Thus, they ask that "what was approved by the Plenary on June 30, 2015, which adopted the agreement that the ordinary sessions should be held on the first Tuesday of each month, in the afternoon," be complied with.

For Ganemos, it is "shameful that because Mr. Mayor sees himself in a minority, he does not fulfill his duty to convene a plenary session where the opposition can oversee the work of the government group and present its motions and questions."

In the opinion of the party, the mayor "cannot violate an agreement of the Plenary without justified reason", as it is "the body of maximum political representation of the citizens in the municipal government". Thus, citing the law that regulates the Bases of the Local Regime, Ganemos warns that "in case of not complying and convening an ordinary plenary session", his group will denounce this situation before the Courts.
