Francisco Armas assures that the Confederation of Entrepreneurs is officially unaware of the negotiations for the new list of members for the Chamber of Commerce

The president of ASOLAN and vice president of the Canary Islands Confederation of Entrepreneurs, Francisco Armas, spoke this Friday about the controversy surrounding the formation of the Plenary of the newly created Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote. He assures that in the CCE they have no official knowledge of the negotiation between the president of the Government of the Canary Islands, Adán Martín, and the Promoter list, led by Eduardo Spínola, by which they agreed that of the 6 collaborating members of the Plenary, three would be from the Confederation and another three, proposed by the Promoter.

"I don't know if anyone has been negotiating and what they have negotiated," said Armas, who considers that "that second list should be debated in the decision-making bodies" of the Confederation, but clarifies that for the moment the Confederation "did what it had to do: present its 8 candidates according to the Law and that's our task".

The vice president of the CCE explained that they do not intend to hinder the formation of the Chamber, but made a reflection on the proposal of Adán Martín. "We businessmen complain about political intervention in some cases and now, Adán Martín's intervention, I don't understand it, although it seems laudable to me that he wants to unblock the situation," Armas pointed out.

In his appearance before the media, he also acknowledged that he feels "stupefaction at the spectacle of the business sector" due to the problems with the creation of the Plenary of the Chamber and lamented that the businessmen "we are transmitting disunity, these ways are not typical of businessmen".
