The Teguise City Council has incorporated four new agents of the Local Police of the municipality. These agents, after taking office, will begin a training period at the Canary Islands Security and Emergency Academy, located in Tenerife. They are expected to be ready to start patrolling the streets of Teguise and serving the residents starting in September.
In this sense, before the inauguration, the mayoress of Teguise spoke, emphasizing the importance of "recovering and increasing the staff, adding a total of "around fifteen more agents", which was necessary and is within our possibilities." She adds that "it is important to take into account that it is not feasible to incorporate all the new agents at once, since they need a period of training and adaptation. Therefore, "they will arrive in a staggered manner, in groups, to guarantee their adequate preparation and adaptation to the service," she informs.
On the other hand, the Councilor for Local Police and Civil Protection, Ginés González, emphasizes that "we are excited about the arrival of these new agents, who show a great vocation, enthusiasm and desire to work. We also have the duty to provide a good service to the citizen, since that is our great commitment, to attend to and help the residents of Teguise".
This incorporation is part of the Teguise City Council's commitment to guarantee the "safety and well-being of all citizens" of the municipality. These agents are the first of a "series of new incorporations that will be made progressively to cover the retirements that have arisen in the local staff", they recall from the Consistory.
