Former Arrecife Councilor Blas Brito Passes Away

The former Arrecife councillor Blas Brito has passed away this Tuesday. Brito, who throughout his political career was a member of various nationalist parties, was one of the councillors who was part of the government group of the Arrecife City Council between 1995 and 1999, when Cándido Armas was in charge. During that legislature, he held the position of Councillor for Works and Services.

Apart from his political affiliation, Blas Brito was a businessman. In fact, in recent years he was a member of the Lanzarote Chamber of Commerce. After the news of his death, the ANC formation wanted to convey "its most sincere condolences to family members, ANC members in Lanzarote and friends for the sad event".

"For ANC, a great person and excellent colleague has left, so the pain and sorrow that we share, from other islands, with the colleagues in Lanzarote falls like a slab", says the party in its statement.
