Planes can take off from Lanzarote without problems, however, they cannot reach their destination. This is happening with flights from the island to Madrid, due to the heavy snowfall that has fallen in the Spanish capital and that affects the operation of the Barajas aerodrome. According to Aena, all flights between Lanzarote and Madrid are delayed.
According to these same sources, none of these services have been cancelled, although it is very likely that passengers will not be able to land in Barajas and, therefore, will do so at an alternative airport such as, for example, Valladolid. This is decided directly by the control tower of the Madrid aerodrome, so Aena cannot confirm where these travelers will go.
But the problems are not only on the peninsula, but the bad weather conditions are also affecting flights that should land in La Palma. On this island, the heavy rains have also affected the operation of this facility, which has experienced delays throughout the morning of this Monday.
The rest of the flights, according to Aena, are departing normally and at the scheduled time.
