Fernández Camero responds for more than six hours in court for the Reyes case

Lawyer Felipe Fernández Camero had to answer questions from Judge Ana Manella, who is investigating the "Reyes" case, as well as the Prosecutor's Office and the private prosecution, for more than six hours this Wednesday. The secretary of the Yaiza City Council, Vicente Bartolomé Fuentes, and the lawyer Ignacio Díaz de Aguilar were also scheduled to testify, but their testimony had to be postponed.

In the case of Díaz de Aguilar, it was suspended due to the long statement of Fernández Camero, while Vicente Bartolomé Fuentes requested this postponement because his lawyer was off the island. However, the three accessed the Arrecife Courts this Wednesday, although two of them finally did not have to testify before the Investigating Court Number 2, which is investigating the alleged plot for the granting of illegal licenses in Playa Blanca.

Both Fernández Camero and Bartolomé Fuentes and Díaz de Aguilar recently became defendants for illicit association in this case, although they already had another indictment for different crimes. Specifically, Fernández Camero was already charged with alleged crimes of prevarication and embezzlement, as was Vicente Bartolomé Fuentes. Díaz de Aguilar was being investigated for alleged crimes of bribery and urban prevarication.

In addition, the prosecutor considers Felipe Fernández Camero "the instigator of the allegedly criminal conduct" of the former mayor of Yaiza, José Francisco Reyes. Camero's daughter, Juana Fernández de Las Heras, is also charged in this case with an alleged crime of illicit association.

For his part, the secretary of the Yaiza City Council, Vicente Bartolomé Fuentes, has recently been convicted, together with a technician from the Corporation, of a continuing crime of urban prevarication for reporting favorably on the granting of licenses to build single-family homes on rustic land.

Finally, the lawyer Ignacio Díaz de Aguilar, whom the former mayor of Yaiza pointed out in the confession he made after being arrested, accessed the Courts last, although he finally did not have to testify. Reyes admitted in his statement to have received money in exchange for the granting of illegal licenses, although he later retracted. Regarding Díaz de Aguilar, Reyes assured that he had given him "cash personally", to which the lawyer responded with the announcement of a lawsuit against the former mayor.

The statements will continue this Friday the 16th, when José Francisco Reyes himself is summoned, as well as Juana Fernández de Las Heras and José Rafael Mesa Ferrer, who was already charged with an alleged crime of bribery and now also faces another charge for money laundering.
