The Minister of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, Esther Monzón, presided this Tuesday over the inauguration of the new senior officials of her department. Among them, the director of the Lanzarote Health Area, Esther Machín, as well as the new manager of the Health Services of the Lanzarote Health Area, Pablo Eguia, took office.
During her speech, the Minister of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands reported that with these appointments the organizational chart of her department is completed and highlighted the professionalism and work capacity of the new senior officials, whom she encouraged to work to continue improving the services offered to the citizens of the Canary Islands from all care areas.
Esther Monzón also added that "the experience of each and every one of the people who make up the organizational chart of the Ministry of Health and the dialogue with the Canary Islands health sector must come together to guarantee, on the one hand, the best healthcare for patients and, on the other hand, the best conditions for the SCS staff."
Esther Machín Henríquez, director of the Lanzarote Health Area
Professional technician in travel agencies, she also has training in Creation and Management of Trips and Events. She has developed her professional career in the private sector linked to travel and tourist promotion in the destination of products made in the Canary Islands. In this sector, she has worked in Viajes Timanfaya, Distribuciones LYC and Degustaciones Canarias, among other companies. She has also collaborated in actions and campaigns to promote the Island Council of Lanzarote.
Pablo Eguia del Río, manager of Health Services in Lanzarote
Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of the Basque Country. Medical specialist in Neurology and Family and Community Medicine. Master's degree in corporate communication management from EAE Business School. He has completed the Management and Innovation program in the health sector at IE Business School. He has been president of the Canary Islands Society of Neurology and member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Society of Neurology. Since 2008, he has worked as a neurologist and head of Neurology at the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital and as a neurologist at the Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín University Hospital, although he has previously worked at different care levels such as Primary Care and Hospital Emergency. Teaching collaborator in the training of specialists in Neurology and principal investigator in several research studies in the area of Multiple Sclerosis.

Rafael Luis Martín Domínguez, director of the Tenerife Health Area
Bachelor of Economics and Business Administration from the University of La Laguna. Management program from the Instituto de Empresa at IE Business School. In his professional career, he has worked as head of packaging plant management in Tenerife for the island company Simpromi. He has also been manager of treatment and environmental management at Prezero Gestión de Residuos in Ferrovial Servicios, employee of the Property Registry and the Liquidation Office of the Property Registry. In the field of education, he has taught courses in Personal Administrative, Accounting Administrative and Office Employee, organized by ICFEM and MBA La Laguna.
Cecilia Sánchez Rodríguez, director of the La Palma Health Area
Senior Technician in Administration and Finance. She has complementary training in the specialties of admission, information and clinical documentation, prevention of occupational hazards and regulations in administrative procedure. In her professional career, she has performed the functions of administrative assistant in various public and private entities such as the Canary Islands Health Service and the Island Council of La Palma, where until now she was part of the Infrastructure service.
Eva Ravelo González, director of the La Gomera Health Area
Bachelor of Pedagogy from the University of La Laguna (ULL). Senior technician in Early Childhood Education at the IES Orotava and sociocultural monitor at the CIP La Laguna. Between 2005 and 2020 she took courses on psychological intervention in crisis situations and on authoring tools for the generation of web educational materials at the ULL. She studied prevention of psychosocial occupational hazards, administrative assistant, dynamization of children's activities and disability, office automation and English for customer service. In recent years she has worked as an early childhood education technician at the Valle Gran Rey City Council.
Adasat Goya González, manager of the University Hospital of the Canary Islands
Bachelor of Economics from the University of La Laguna. Candidate for the national qualified scale of Auditors-Treasurers in Local Public Administrations in the 2006 procedure. Student of the Second cycle of the Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management (currently Degree). In his professional career he has developed tasks as managing director of Municipal Services in the company El Sauzal since 2007. In the political field, between 2007 and 2023 he has served as councilor for Economy and Finance, Police, Civil Protection, Transport and Municipal Company in the City Council of El Sauzal. Stevedore Ports of Tenerife in Sestife CPE since 2006, he was coordinator of the Container Terminal of Tenerife.
