Psychology student Enola Calero won the title of Miss Arrecife on Wednesday night. Among the eleven candidates who paraded on the stage of the Charco de San Ginés, the young woman who turned 20 last month and represented the Arrecife Sport gym, took the crown in addition to the title of Beautiful Face.
The person in charge of putting on the sash was the mayor of the city, Eva de Anta, who minutes before thanked the public for "the great participation in the different events of the festivities and encouraged everyone to continue enjoying such spectacular places as the Charco de San Ginés."
The Councilor for Festivities of the Arrecife City Council, David Duarte, was in charge of putting the sash on Nayara Iglesias Romero, who represents Líneas Romero, after being proclaimed Queen of San Ginés 2018. Duarte also took advantage of the questions from the gala presenter Ruiz Rodríguez to thank "the help and participation of the Casa del Miedo Cultural Society for the celebration of the festivities."
For her part, Jennifer Rodríguez won the title of Miss Photogenic, whose sash was put on by the photojournalist Sergio Betancort, and Lina Brañas was chosen by her colleagues as Miss Congeniality.
The title of First Lady of the Queen of San Ginés was received by Andrea Domínguez representing Maive Peluqueros at the hands of Councilor Tomás Fajardo and the First Lady of Miss Arrecife is now Nelly Florenza, the sash was put on by Councilor Roberto Herbón.
The gala, which lasted two hours, featured performances by Jennifer Hernández, Juanjo López and the Ballet de la Rosa, and Miss Arrecife 2017 -Yanira Cazorla- and the Queen of the Festivities 2017 -Iara Arroyo- took center stage, standing out for their elegance and poise on stage.
The jury was made up of design professionals, models and fashion consultants such as Ruyman Medina, María Moya, Adrián Hernández, Pedro Arrocha and Ana Pilar Suárez, among others.
Enola Calero, Miss Arrecife 2018 will participate in the Miss Tourism Spain contest to be held in Mallorca next October.
