The Department of Education of the Arrecife City Council, led by Abigail González, continues its work to improve the municipality's educational centers, taking advantage of the summer months to carry out numerous interventions through the Arrecife 2024 Social Employment Program, co-financed with funds from the Comprehensive Employment Plan of the Canary Islands.
"We continue working with planning, prioritizing the safety and functionality of our educational centers; these interventions not only improve the infrastructure but also generate employment," highlights Abigail González, who recently visited some of the educational centers where the works are being carried out together with the Deputy Mayor of Arrecife, Echedey Eugenio.
The improvements made in recent weeks have been carried out in the Schools of Early Childhood and Primary Education (CEIP) Capellanía del Yágabo, Benito Méndez Tarajano, La Destila, Antonio Zerolo, Argana Alta and Titerroy, the Municipal Children's School, the Education Center for Adult Persons (CEPA) Titerroygatra, in addition to the Cultural Classroom for the Second and Third Age of La Destila.
Actions
Adaptation of floors in the patios, placement of pavements and baseboards, repairs for humidity in walls, cleaning of drains, installation of new faucets and plumbing repairs in bathrooms and kitchens, painting of classrooms and exterior walls, repair of gates, placement of fences or cleaning of manholes are some of the actions undertaken in the aforementioned centers.
Some actions that "although many times are not visible to the naked eye, are essential for the well-being of students and the proper functioning of educational centers. We know that a safe, accessible and well-maintained environment is essential for the educational community to carry out its activity with guarantees," highlights Abigail González.
