Coalición Canaria Lanzarote started this Thursday the renovation of its local committees and did so in San Bartolomé, where the members of its Assembly, meeting at Casa Ajei, unanimously elected Eduardo Díaz as the new local secretary.
The event was attended by the island secretary of the nationalist formation on the island, Migdalia Machín, who stressed that "although the important thing, without a doubt, is the people, within our organic work, the period of internal renewal that begins today is a key process for Coalición Canaria as an organization."
Also attending were the Secretary of Organization, Echedey Eugenio, the Secretary of the Young Nationalists of the Canary Islands (JNC), Jesús Machín Tavío, and the Secretary of the Young Nationalists of Lanzarote, Sara Bermúdez, as well as the current local secretary of CC in San Bartolomé, Isabel Sosa Corujo, and her outgoing team, in addition to the local secretaries of Tías, (Sandra Rodríguez), Yaiza (Mateo Ramón), Tinajo (Luis Miguel Pérez) and Teguise (Antonio Callero), the local deputy secretary of Arrecife (Jacobo Lemes), the spokesperson for the Nationalist Group in the Cabildo, Samuel Martín, the mayor of Haría, Chaxiraxi Niz, the spokesperson in the Yaiza City Council, Ángel Domínguez, and the spokesperson in the San Bartolomé City Council, David Rocío.
After his election, Díaz thanked and praised the work carried out over the last four years by both Corujo and his team in favor of the residents of the municipality and announced the continuity of a work that in its new stage will have a completely renovated team that will work with the same enthusiasm and commitment for San Bartolomé.
“In these times, where politics has become a huge war between each other, we need dialogue, we need calm, we need to listen and we need to go out into the street, talk to people, listen and help our neighbors, sit down with sports clubs, with neighborhood associations, cultural associations, freelancers, businesses in the municipality, the educational community, etc. In short, help solve the problems of the people, which is the only thing that is expected of a political party,” said Díaz.
In this way, he announced the creation of the figure of delegate by locality of the municipality, as well as ten executive secretariats in order to know, in a more direct and real way, the opinion of the people who live in the municipality and in this way give a coordinated, rapid and effective response to any inconvenience, suggestion or complaint.
In the direction of the Committee, Díaz will be accompanied by Nayra Rodríguez as Secretary of Organization, Boris Corujo as Deputy Secretary of Organization and Isabel Sosa who assumes on this occasion the Spokesperson and political communication.
Still as local secretary, the latter valued the work, commitment and involvement of the new visible head of the Committee and took stock of the last four years of management, recalling that in the last elections (2019), CC went from having two to four councilors in the San Bartolomé City Council.
“In the last elections we doubled the votes. We did not give it importance because it seems that it does not shine before an absolute majority of the PSOE. But this should not discourage us, but quite the opposite, arm us to continue growing. Working as we are doing leading the opposition in the City Council and adding all the organic work,” said Isabel Sosa, whose management report was also approved unanimously.
Brief sketch
Eduardo Díaz Martín is 33 years old and is a Laboratory technician in clinical diagnosis and has a Degree in Nursing from the ULPGC. He is currently a nurse in the operating room of the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.
He has belonged to the party since 2007, his last position was that of Secretary of Communication of the San Bartolomé Committee and in 2019 he was a candidate for Congress and has grown politically supported by the Young Nationalists of Lanzarote. “During these 14 years I have always tried to give the best of myself for the good of San Bartolomé, Lanzarote and the Canary Islands. I have always defended this party but I have also been very critical of decisions that have been made on some occasions, always debating it within the party's bodies, which is where it has to be done.”
The next event will be for the renewal of the Local Committee of CC in Haría on July 10.
