The PSOE of Arrecife denounces that the Parque Islas Canarias is "full of garbage fifteen days after the act that Coalición Canaria did in the Carnival of Día", which was held on February 18. "And it is that, although the normal thing is that the venues used for parties are cleaned the day after their celebration, this government group has not ordered the area to be cleaned. Proof of this are the beach bars that remain occupying the park without anyone doing anything", criticize the socialists.
For the spokesperson of the PSOE in Arrecife, Cristina Duque, “this is a clear example that Astrid Pérez and Echedey Eugenio despise this city to the point of allowing polluting products, garbage and dismantled beach bars to be in the middle of the Arrecife marina for more than half a month”.
A public health problem
From the PSOE they point out that the situation is a problem of "public health" because "it should be remembered that this park is used by the population in general and that this garbage attracts vermin, and pests, and that many children wander through it. The nearby houses, as well as restaurants and shops, do not have to be next to a pile of garbage forever. We are not talking about a delay in cleaning, a specific error, we are facing the absolute indifference of a city in which we live”, criticizes Duque.
Bad image of the capital of Lanzarote
In addition, this area is "transited by tourists who stay in the different hotels in the city, as well as cruise passengers who walk through the capital, finding an abandoned area, a kind of landfill, which represents a dirty and sad city” comments Duque.
From the PSOE of Arrecife they demand the candidate of the PP and mayor of Arrecife Astrid Pérez, and her partner Echedey Eugenio, "to be ashamed and order the cleaning of that important enclave of the city. If they don't pass through their municipality, at least they should hide it a little and clean it” concludes Duque.
