Dimas Martín's wife, Elena Martín Cabrera, entered the Civil Guard barracks in Costa Teguise at approximately 10:20 a.m. this Thursday to testify before agents of the Central Operative Unit (UCO), in charge of Operation "Unión".
Elena Martín had been summoned by this body, and entered the premises together with her lawyer, where she remained for about an hour. Her alleged relationship with the case could be linked to the economic capital in her name.
Works under suspicion
Although she was not on the list of defendants in this case until now, Elena Martín's name had appeared linked to one of the possible fronts of Operation "Unión". Already in the first weeks of this judicial intervention, [La Voz de Lanzarote pointed to a house that was in the name of Dimas' wife->28725], and that could be part of the investigation.
In that property a "construction annexed to the previous house" was being carried out with three new rooms, "a stone wall in the perimeter of the plot" and "a swimming pool of approximately 30 square meters", and all this, without having the Territorial Qualification and the Municipal Works License, as stated in a complaint filed last March by the Seprona.
Supposedly, the possible passivity of the City Council in the construction of this work, which had even been inspected on several occasions by the Police, could be under suspicion.
