The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, was this Thursday on the program Buenos días, Lanzarote of Radio Lanzarote - Onda Cero to discuss some issues about the improvement works in different neighborhoods of the capital and, also, about the internal situation of the Popular Party of Lanzarote.
Regarding the dismissal of Jacobo Medina as general secretary of the PP of Lanzarote, de León has thanked the "great work that Medina has done." "This has been a decision of the president, she puts and she takes away and the same could happen to me, you have to abide by what is said," he declared.
Faced with the possibility that Astrid Pérez could dismiss him, the mayor explained that "it is in her decision, the truth is that I continue working with great enthusiasm as I have been doing from the beginning but in politics, what today may be white, tomorrow may be black and no one is going to take away the enthusiasm I have."
He continued assuring that "if she calls me and tells me that I have to leave, I will leave because she will take away my organic position but no one is going to take away my status as a member."
Regarding the rumors about alleged irregularities carried out by Jacobo Medina in the Cabildo of Lanzarote as by Yonathan de León in the Arrecife City Council, the mayor has once again stated that "anyone who has knowledge of illegal acts, should go to court because anyone stands in front of a microphone and says whatever they want, I have a very clear conscience."
